Looking forward to doing the Stagecoach 400 in 2017. Any advice on tire size i.e.. 29x 2.0-or 2.2-2.35, 27.5+x 3.0 or 29+?? I currently plan on riding the route on a Specialized Epic. Unless there is a much better option out there. I'm interested in the best bike/tire combo for the route. What brands and model of tires have you used and the pros and cons of your recommendation vs. my setup? I'm thinking about Specialized Fast Trak 29 X 2.2 Control casing Front and rear.

Here's a follow up to my own question from my own experience on the Stagecoach 400 2017. I choose to ride my Sworks Epic. I used Maxxis Ikon 29x2.35 TR 3C Maxx speed EXO for my front and the 29x2.25 for the rear with the same protection and such. I found that it worked pretty well in the desert as long as i was able to find and ride on the crust of the sand. I was just outside of the top 5 so I was able to find it most of the way. there were definitely some sections I had to walk due to the depth and softness of the sand. There were definitely some choice words being spoken. For the most part it was a great set up for the route. They rolled fast everywhere and I had no tire issues at all. I hope this helps!
